Secondary Prevention

If the patient has low blood pressure, certain steps to prevent or reduce the symptoms are possible. These may include:
Avoiding alcohol
Avoiding standing for a long time (if the patient has neurally mediated hypotension)
Drinking plenty of fluids
Getting up slowly after sitting or lying down
Using compression stockings to increase blood pressure in the legs
