Diagnosis of Kaposi’s sarcoma requires histologic confirmation via a tissue biopsy. This is a diagnostic study of choice. Ancillary studies that aid in the diagnosis includes laboratory and physical examination assessments.

Sequence of Diagnostic Studies
The tissue biopsy must be performed when:
- The patient presented with violaceous papules as the first step of diagnosis.
