Lipoid pneumonia echocardiography and ultrasound
Introduction
Overview
Overview
In some cases, ultrasound is used for the diagnosis and follow-up of a patient with pneumonia, for a guided thoracocentesis and to quantify the amount of pleural effusion, however its benefits are not yet indicated for lipoid pneumonia.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound
- Findings on the ultrasound for any aspiration pneumonia (like lipoid pneumonia) include:[1]
- Air bronchogram
- Pleural effusion
- Ultrasound may be used for the follow-up of pneumonia.[1]
