MRI lung is the least accepted modality in diagnosing lung abscess.

  • It has a very minimal role in establishing diagnosis of lung abscess
  • It is superior to X-ray and almost as sensitive as CT but is only considered as an option in paediatrics and when CT is contraindicated.[1]
