- Biopsies and cultures of affected organs or tissues
- Bronchoscopy for biopsy or culture
- Chest x-ray
- CT scan of the affected area
- Fundoscopy may reveal retinal lesions
- Lung biopsy
- Mycobacterial culture of bone marrow or blood
- Pleural biopsy
- Sputum cultures
