Osler's sign

Osler’s Sign is a medical sign named in honor of the famous Professor William Osler, Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University is an artificially and falsely elevated blood pressure reading obtained through sphygmomanometry due to arteriosclerotic, calcified blood vessels which do not physiologically compress with pressure – therefore the blood pressure reading is higher than it truly ought to be.
