Persistent truncus arteriosus physical examination

Patients will present with cyanosis. Cyanosis may be mild if pulmonary vasculature resistance is low and pulmonary arterial flow is high.

• Widened pulse pressure
• Bounding arterial pulses

• Tachypnea

• Heart failure may occur within weeks
• Systolic ejection murmur is heard at the left sternal border
• Loud second heart sound
• Cardiomegaly

• Cyanosis presents at birth
• Clubbing
