Endometrial biopsy is recommended in patients diagnosed with PCOS because long-term unopposed estrogen stimulation leaves these patients at increased risk for endometrial cancer.

- Endometrial biopsy is recommended periodically in untreated women with PCOS regardless of age because, long-term unopposed estrogen stimulation leaves these patients at increased risk for endometrial cancer.[1][2]
- Pregnancy should be ruled out before each endometrial biopsy.
