Russell bodies


Russell bodies are eosinophilic, large, homogenous immunoglobulin-containing inclusions usually found in a plasma cell undergoing excessive synthesis of immunoglobulin; the russell body is characteristic of the distended Endoplasmic Reticulum. This is one cell variation found in Multiple Myeloma.
