Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura physical examination

The presence of fever, purpura, petechiae, paleness in physical examination is highly suggestive of TTP.

• Bruising may be present even in mucous membrane called purpura
• Pinpoint dots on skin called petechiae
• Paleness
• Jaundice

• Tachycardia

• Dyspnea
• Arrhythmia
• Severe complications; sudden cardiac death, myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, heart failure

• No abnormalities
• Moderate signs ^[1]; speech changes, confusion
• Severe involvement: focal signs, seizure, stroke, coma

Renal

• Fever

• Dark urine
