There are no established risk factors for thymoma.

Risk Factors

There are no environmental risk factors for thymoma; however, several case reports have described an association with:^[1]
- Human foamy virus
- Epstein-Barr virus
- Human T-cell lymphotropic virus
- Infections
Thymoma may be observed in patients with MEN 1 syndrome
