The University of Ottawa Heart Institute was founded in 1976 on the site of the Ottawa Civic Hospital by Dr Wilbert J. Keon.
What started as a department in a hospital has evolved into Canada’s only complete cardiac centre, encompassing prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, research and education.
The Institute is affilaited with The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa.
