Causes for Bicuspid Aortic Stenosis

There is increasing evidence that occurrence of bicuspid aortic valve is heriditary with incidence as high as 10-17% in first-degree relatives of probands.^[1]
Hypercholesterolemia accelerates the stenotic process via calcification.
