Chemical pneumonitis medical therapy

• Positive pressure ventilation
• Intravenous fluids (high molecular weight colloid)
• Sodium nitroprusside infusion in the pulmonary artery
• Mechanical ventilation (if respiratory failure)
• Antimicrobial agents prophylactically for superimposed bacterial infection
• Use of steroids is controversial
