Other diagnostic studies useful in diagnosing Farmer’s lung disease include Pulmonary function tests, Microscopy of bronchoalveolar lavage and rarely lung biopsy.

Pulmonary function tests show-

In acute cases-

In chronic cases-

Microscopy of broncho alveolar lavage shows- leukocytosis

Rarely, lung biopsy is done if diagnosis could not be made with other investigations and no other criteria is met. Trans bronchial biopsy is sufficient for the diagnosis.
